Geosciences
Geosciences department research opportunities are available for Geosciences and Earth Systems Sciences majors and intended majors.

Requirements: 4-10 weeks of full-time participation and presentation of results at the summer symposium and/or a regional or national Geosciences conference.

Stipend: $450/week, up to $4,500

Hixon Environmental Studies
Faculty-student teams from any academic department or program may participate in the Hixon Environmental Studies research program.
Application: Apply through the common summer research application.
Due Date: February 9, 2024
Requirements: Applications will only be accepted from faculty-student teams. Individuals may not appear in more than one application. Students must be graduating in December 2024 or later.

Clare Boothe Luce Scholars
The Clare Boothe Luce (CBL) Undergraduate Research Awards will support on-campus summer research and professional development for women and female-identifying students majoring in Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering Science.

Due Date: February 9, 2024
Requirements: CBL Scholars must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and be a declared (provisional accepted) Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering Science major by Summer 2024. Summer Research must be completed in either the PHYS, CSCI, or ENGR departments.
Number available: 8
Stipend: $5,000 stipend for summer research.
Additional Resources: $900 stipend for attending professional development activities, additional funds for research costs and supplies, on-campus housing during the summer research session, and funding to present your research at a scientific conference.
